I offer therapy and counselling support for women who want to slow down and cultivate a more meaningful and authentic life. For sensitive or soulful women who yearn for community and a place to feel heard and be seen as they are - no matter how messy. Many women I work with are nurturer's - often mum's, or carers or women who work in the caring profession.  They often describe feeling overwhelmed, depleted and disconnected. The overwhelm and depletion may be the result of years of tending to other's needs above one's own, or may be due to difficult life circumstances, fertility issues, loss, trauma and other stressors.

How Mood Food therapy can support you

Integrating the latest and evidenced-based psychological and lifestyle medicine approaches (nutrition, movement, restful sleep, time in nature & connection) with deep listening - Mood Food Therapy aims to support you to connect with the essence of who you truly are so you can live a life that feels fulfilling, nurturing and in alignment with your desires (not what society says you should strive for!)

We offer therapeutic supports via telehealth and in person at a warm and welcoming acreage property in the beautiful Sunshine Coast Hinterland which we share with other allied health professionals. Our in-person counselling sessions can be offered in nature (where appropriate) or indoors. Outdoor sessions occur in a calming natural setting with considerations made for privacy and confidentiality. Outdoor sessions may include gentle walking, sitting in nature, mindfulness activities, and nature connection activities that support your therapeutic goals.

Together we will bridge the gap between where you are and where you desire to grow in your life, identify and resolve unhelpful stories and other barriers that are standing in your way and plant new stories and practices that nourish who you want to be and your unique way of BEing in the world.

PLEASE NOTE:

Your psychological recovery may be better served by another service if:

  • You have a current or enduring psychotic illness or eating disorder

  • You have long-standing suicidal or homicidal ideation or suicide attempts without a current psychiatrist currently providing you care

  • You are seeking a medico-legal assessment or report

We accept the following referrals: Private, Medicare, WorkCover & NDIS for individual therapy.

    Schedule a free 15-minute call so we can meet and determine if I’m the right therapist for you (and vice versa!)

  • Complete a questionnaire

    If we both decide that we’re a good fit for one another, I will send you a questionnaire to complete that will help me learn more about you, your challenges, how your life currently looks and feels, and your goals for your future

  • Our journey begins

    Depending on your needs, we will meet in person or online weekly/fortnightly/monthly.

    Our first few sessions happen in-doors and are designed for Kristy to get an understanding of your unique challenges, goals and needs and for us to decide an approach that works best for you.

    As therapy progresses, we will gently explore and work through old stories and practices that impact on your wellbeing, so we can invite peace, joy and alignment into your present.
