THRIVE: A 6-week Therapeutic Horticulture and Lifestyle Medicine Program
Thrive is a 6-week small-group program weaving lifestyle medicine with therapeutic horticulture. Learn to create and care for an edible garden while exploring how gardening can nurture stress management, mood, sleep, connection, and meaning. Expect psychoeducation, hands-on garden skills, and gentle reflection—so you leave with practical tools and a garden that keeps supporting your wellbeing.

Come join us in our new Native Bushfood Garden at House of Hope and learn about growing your own bushfoods local to Sunshine Coast and the role of food and time in nature for mental health.
Workshop Overview
Join Veronica from Witjuti Grub Bushfood Nursery and discover the diverse selection of bushfoods you can grow here on the Sunshine Coast (Gubbi Gubbi / Kabi Kabi and Jinibara Country).
Bushfood plants not only supply tasty, nutritional produce. They are stunning trees, shrubs, ground covers and vines that will turn your garden into a unique and beautiful sanctuary.
Veronica will share her love of growing native edibles and pass on planting, pruning, fertilising and general care tips to ensure your food forest rewards you with abundant produce.
Hear from local Psychologist and Therapeutic Horticulture Practitioner Kristy Howard (In My Mother’s Kitchen) about the role of food and time in nature (aka food gardening) in supporting mental health and wellbeing.
Explore our beautiful Native Bushfood Garden at House of Hope and sample fresh seasonal produce that will get your tastebuds tingling.

House of Hope, 10 Redmonds Rd, West Woombye QLD. This event will be hosted outside in our gardens. Please dress appropriately to the weather.

Nurtured
Learn how to nurture your wellbeing through nurturing a garden.
NurturED is a 4 week therapeutic gardening and self-care program for those who struggle with their relationship to food and/or body image.
The program runs for 4 weeks (Monday’s 9:30am - 11am) starting Monday 1st July.
Session will include the basics on growing an edible garden, mindfulness, self-care, floriculture, self-compassion, weeding our inner garden (managing difficult thoughts), self-compassion and nature connectedness.
The sessions are sensitive to the needs of those who struggle with their relationship with food and body image.
Co-facilitated with the beautiful team at EndED Australia and in a restorative nature-based setting.
