Presented by Psychologists & Therapeutic Horticulture Practitioners Kristy Howard from @inmymotherskitchen and Carla Anderson from @carlaandersoncliniciantraining welcome any allied health professionals with an interest in working therapeutically with nature- based activities. This workshop is suitable for a range of professionals working in the therapeutic space such as Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Counsellors, Speech Pathologists, Mental Health Nurses, GP’s etc.
This introductory workshop offers the opportunity to explore the growing field of therapeutic horticulture as an allied health professional.
You’ll gain valuable knowledge, practical tools, and experience the nurturing effects of plant-based activities, all while connecting with other like-minded professionals in the serene House of Hope Gardens, Woombye.
WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES:
1. Understand the foundational principles and applications of therapeutic horticulture.
2. Learn the history, benefits, and evidence base for nature-based therapy in promoting mental and physical health.
3. Gain practical skills for incorporating plant-based activities & floristry into client sessions.
4. Experience the personal restorative benefits of therapeutic gardening and floristry.
5. Develop ideas for integrating these practices into their professional work and personal self-care routines.
